UK firms 'benefiting from elearning'
Date: 05/08/2011 16:47:18

Firms can harness the growing trend towards workforce mobility and incorporate elearning into their training techniques.
That is the opinion of David Guralnick, president of the International E-Learning Association, who suggested this type of educational tool can have a number of financial benefits.
Travel, venue and instructor costs can all be slashed, he stated, adding that the benefits can be more than just financial.
Using simulation techniques, elearning can allow individuals to practice a real-life skill in a safe environment, Mr Guralnick explained.
"It's possible to include a variety of educational components to speed up and enhance the learning process," he remarked. "This in turn leads to better employee performance and to happier employees."
Another advantage is the ability to receive training very quickly as and when it is needed, the expert added.
This just-in-time provision can save companies massive amounts of money in terms of both training costs and increased productivity, he concluded.
