Scheme launched to keep UK moving during Games
Date: 31/01/2012 15:00:52

A scheme has been launched to help keep members of the UK's mobile workforce moving during this summer's Olympic Games.
The UK government, the mayor of London, London 2012 and the UK's transport networks have joined forces for the campaign that will encourage people to 'Get Ahead of the Games'.
Transport for London (TfL) has been working with businesses to ensure that they have travel plans in place to keep on running and make the most of the Games.
Justine Greening, the transport secretary, said that companies can look forward to the boost in trade that the Games will bring, but must be aware of how much busier Britain's roads and railways will be.
"That's why we have already invested £6.5 billion on improving transport links," she explained.
She added that it was vital for mobile workers to plan ahead to avoid getting caught up in Games congestion.
It has recently been reported that traffic levels are expected to rise 33 per cent during this summer's event.
