NX Framework has been designed as a scalable and resilient disaster recovery (DR) enabled network. The servers that make up the infrastructure are hosted in a rack in one of the world's top data centre providers.

Scalability

All servers are monitored constantly and the NX Framework infrastructure is regularly load tested. The design of the network is such that the scale is governed by hardware.

Each data handling server can handle around 10,000 concurrent connections without putting the hardware under excessive load.

Service Level Agreement

We offer a 99.9% uptime SLA on NX Framework services. This is measured as the availability of the service (data in and out) over a month long period. Service availability is monitored and logged and uptime reports can be produced as and when required.

NX Framework is a managed service designed to facilitate the rapid development of bespoke real-time mobile applications.  It will work on any Microsoft based handheld device, any network provider and will integrate with any back office system.  As the application is designed specifically to meet your business requirements, the product is unique to you and 100% fit for purpose.

Transfer any type and quantity of data:

NX Framework can send and receive any type and quantity of data. This means that besides specific job related information, any of the following can be sent to or from a mobile device:

NX Framework is device independent.  This means it is not tied to, nor prefers any one particular brand, model or type of device.  It runs on the latest Microsoft operating system environments but also supports legacy versions to ensure backwards compatibility.

The sophisticated server-side processing of NX Framework allows multiple types of device to be deployed in the field running the same application.  This means you could have some field agents using non-rugged PDAs while others use rugged IP rated barcode scanners - all with no additional administration required from your technical department.

Compression and Security of Data

All data transmitted between the NX Framework servers and the handheld devices is automatically compressed during transmission.  Data is encrypted using AES (Advanced Encryption Standard) 128-bit encryption ensuring the absolute privacy and integrity of your data.

Integration with your system

The integration between NX Framework and your office based system is facilitated through Web Services, which are a modern information data exchange standard.  Where no web service interface is possible, we have a series of 'connectors' which can push, pull and present data in a variety of different formats (files over FTP / SQL / Oracle / SAP for example). 

Managed Service

NX Framework is delivered as a managed service.  We best describe this as a 'low impact implementation' meaning the requirements placed on your business to implement the system are minimal.  In essence you need only an internet connection from your offices in order to pass and receive data from the NX Framework servers and your system will be fully mobile enabled.  No further infrastructure is required.

Maximum uptime and fault tolerance

The server infrastructure has been designed by networking experts to the highest standard with fault tolerance one of the key considerations.  The server framework runs on a network of high end servers located in dedicated racking in one of the world's premier data centre providers.  They are powered by UPS and generators fed from separate power grids, protected by a state of the art fire suppression system, permanently air conditioned with physical security guarding access to the premises.

If addition to this resiliency, there is an exact duplicate of the primary setup located in a separate space configured as a fully active standby to take over in part or in full with no disruption from the primary servers in the event of hardware failure.

Servers are monitored and maintained 24/7 under the highest service levels available.

Security

Data security is a critical issue and an array of load balanced hardware firewalls compliment a high-end antivirus product, keeping the network free from intrusion and viruses.  On top of the resiliency, as you would expect, daily backups are taken to safeguard any data held on the servers.

Scalability

The NX Framework server tier has been specifically designed to maintain operational performance regardless of system load.  Any additional scalability requirements are included as part of the managed service.

All data line connectivity to and from the NX Framework servers are monitored 24/7 on a stringent SLA and have multiple redundant backups which takeover automatically in the event of an ISP outage.

Hardware refresh

Another important benefit of the managed service is that you do not bear hardware refresh costs.  This is the process of evaluating needs and purchasing, installing and cutting over to new hardware after the current hardware has reached its end of life, typically after 36 months of use.

Hardware

NX Framework will work with any mobile Microsoft Windows based hardware, from Windows Mobile to Windows Smart phone.  If you have a preferred device or preferred manufacturer, we will accommodate your requirements wherever possible.  Alternatively we are happy to offer our support and advice in device selection from our previous experience of working on mobility projects.

Devices

NX Framework can support almost any internal or external hardware to extend the functionality of your application, such as:

• 1) Barcode scanners. Both 1D and 2D barcodes.
• 2) Mobile printing. From simple receipts printing through to full A4 printing.
